Help dogs in our Community

It is always heartwarming when dogs and cats are rescued from horrible circumstances and adopted into loving homes.
Lately we have been contacted because a couple of rescued dogs have health issues that require expensive treatments/procedures.  Unfortunately, neither the loving familes who adopted the dogs nor can cover the medical treatment each dog requires. costs for these dogs to have the required surgeries.
With your help, together we can all pitch in and help these dogs.  Even if you can only afford to donate a couple of dollars - it all adds up and will be appreciated.
Please take time to scroll down and meet Cracker and Buck.

    Cracker  Cracker

Meet Cracker - a 3yr old Lab mix. He was pulled from our County Pound by the Floyd County Humane Society even tho he was a special needs dog. Before going into the Pound, Cracker was badly treated.  His left front elbow got an infection and the owners did not attend to it right away.  The untreated infection left him with muscles and tendons unable to hold the elbow totally in place.  He was also shot at and has buckshot throughout him body.

Cracker's left hip was hit with a baseball bat and left him with a fracture at the neck of the femur and it still has not totally healed and gives him a lot of pain. Cracker needs a total hip replacement in order to have a good quality of life - without pain.  With all the abuse this guy has endured, he remains a kind, loving dog. Cracker is now in a loving home but they cannot afford the approximately $2,800 to required for his surgery.  Please help Cracker.

Buck in snow Sick Buck

Meet Buck – a 5 year old American Bulldog that was diagnosed as having a calcified disk that ruptured into his spinal column.  The first picture was last year before he got sick.  The bottom picture was taken a short while ago – when he was first diagnosed.  He has chronic pain that can only be fixed with surgery, which is expected to cost $3,500.  The family cannot afford the surgery, so FCHS is asking for donations to help.  Buck is a very sweet, gentle dog and the family cannot bear the thought of him suffering or possibly losing him if they cannot get the surgery.  Please help him walk again.

* All donations are tax deductible. Checks may be made payable to Floyd County Humane Society and specify either Cracker's or Buck’s surgery fund on the memo line.  If you choose to use paypal, please e-mail floydhumane09@yahoo.com and let us know that you have made a donation (include donation amount) to  Cracker's or Buck’s surgery fund so that we will know how to apply your donation.
