Everyone had a blast at our first "Pint-Sized" Paws Cause event at Buffalo Mountain Brewery!9/7/2023 Floyd Co Humane Society along with our super wonderful co-hosts, Buffalo Mountain Brewery and McDaniel's Tavern, had an unbelievably great "Pint-Sized" Paws Cause last Saturday! We raised over $3,400 for FCHS programs, especially community spay/neuter.
Buffalo Mountain Brewery supplied discounts on beer pours, fabulous music form Triquetra and Whitney Lewis, tavern fare and food from 'Keep It Simple'. An enormous THANK YOU to our FCHS members, family, VT Ved Med students, sponsors, & friends for their support and volunteer hours. Our many volunteers made for a smooth & organized event even though so much activity was going on. We had lots of attention at the foster cat & dog canopies & 2 applications were placed. The kids had a BALL with the games & activities, especially with our educational but fun “poop station” scavenger hunt. Everyone seemed to being having a good time & pint glass sales went well as did the craft table. The winner of the 50/50 raffle was generous enough to donate her winnings back to FCHS! The Buffalo Mountain Brewery was so pleased with our event that they’ve invited our craft booth back on Saturday, September 23 for their very well attended Customer Appreciation Day. Saturday, September 16 will be the Floyd Americana fest at Lineberry Park where will will also have a craft booth. It was a great time to meet the community and show off our sweet adoptable pets! Thank you to our volunteers for all their work to make this a successful event! We had fun and look forward to hosting more events! Oliver and Rue found their forever home!
These male and female litter mates from the "P" kitten group (formerly known as Piper and Pierce), were living with a volunteer foster at Floyd Jewelry, but not for long! Their new humans met them and decided to adopt them. They write us that Oliver and Rue "love to play, snuggle, and climb! We are so in love!" They've even allied with two canine members of the family (check out the photos!) We still have many cats and kittens who need home. Please visit them online and fill out an application.
