Floyd County Animal Control
Although the Floyd County Humane Society is not affiliated with Floyd County Animal Control, we work closely with them to promote pet adoption and animal welfare. Floyd County Animal Control has limited space and is not a “no-kill” shelter. Animals in their care can only be held a limited time. We encourage you to meet the dogs available for adoption at the pound when considering a pet for your family.
For more information about the dogs at the pound, call 540-745-9365 and speak with one of the Animal Control Officers. Or visit their Facebook page for dogs that are available for adoption.
The pound charges $10 to adopt animals, but this does not include spay/neuter services or any other vet care. The Floyd County Humane Society will pay $50 towards their mandatory sterilization fee. If you adopt your dog from the pound, please call FCHS 540-745-7207 to arrange sterilization.
State law requires that you live in Floyd County, or an adjoining county, to adopt from the pound.
(Adjacent counties are Montgomery, Roanoke, Franklin, Patrick, and Carroll)
