This very sweet heeler mix is 1 yr old, and 32 lbs. We just got her yesterday and can't wait to get to know her! She is a bit shy now and just leans in for love and pets. She needs a home that will love her forever💜

Meet Zoey! 

She is looking for her perfect human(s) to give her lots of love and attention.

Zoey is a lab mix, about 4 yrs old, and was picked up as a stray. We initially thought she was pregnant, but it was a false alarm. She had puppies in the past, but was spayed this week and now it's her time to get all the love and affection. About 20 lbs overweight, Zoey will need a fitness partner to keep her on track to get into shape. She gets a little snarky with other dogs in the kennel, so it may be likely that she does not get along with other dogs. Cats & children are unknown at this time. We do know she loves people and can hardly stand getting pets and belly rubs that she wiggles all about.

King is like the genie who emerged from a bottle after many, many years. Who knew there was another world out there? Everyone and everything is NEW and EXCITING to adoring King, who lived in a restrictive environment for most of the 5 years of his life.

King is ready for walking, hiking, (he still pulls a little hard in his excitement) and playing. Does well with other dogs, but he might be too enthusiastic for small children and kitties. King weighs about 50 pounds and could put on a few more.

Will King grant your three wishes? Maybe! We do know King will give you tons of love. Is King move-in ready? No, but he will remind you that there is a beautiful world out there.

Herald the Hound is back in Floyd! Herald is about four years old and loves people and being outdoors, and he should be an only dog in a home. If you would like to adopt Herald, please email [email protected]. And please read on for a report from Herald’s current fosters, who suggest a fenced-in yard for Herald:

“Herald is a sweet, adorable guy who absolutely loves to be outside. He has a cute way of coming up and leaning against you to show affection, loves getting pats and ear scratches and occasional belly rubs. He's a gentle eater, takes food out of your hand nicely, doesn't rush his food bowl, and doesn't beg for snacks if you're eating and he's not. Yesterday I discovered that he likes apples!

Ready to meet Oscar? Gentle, Loving, Affectionate, and Happy are a few words our volunteers use to describe him. He's a little shy 7 yr old, but making friends really fast. Oscar gets along well with other dogs, he just prefers more laid back dogs like himself. He would love to be your walking partner!
