This sweet Rottie girl is Lady. Lady is full of energy and has regained her self-confidence. This 70-pound plushy loves humans. She was picked up as a stray and was at the pound before she came to us. She is just a big teddy bear! She'll jump up to give you kisses, but is very gentle.
No known history with other dogs, cats or children. She is house-trained. If you would like to meet Lady please email Carol at [email protected]. Ginger is ready to rewrite the story of her life. Will you help her write her Happily Ever After?
We don't want to dwell on her past, but we will just come out and say it...Ginger was found tied to a tree and starving to death. She resorted to eating pine needles and leaves to stay alive. BUT most importantly, she is safe now and receiving a ton of love and treats from our volunteers. Since she has been in our care (about 5 weeks now), she has gained about 10 pounds (still needs to gain more). She is so sweet, loving, and trusting. Even though she was mistreated by humans previously, she craves love, pets, affection, and company. We can't wait for her true personality to shine through 110%! We get glimpses of it every day. Ginger should be an only dog (no cats; unknown with children). She needs to know she is cared for and loved and in a home where she is not left alone 8+ hours a day. And because she was nearly starved to death, food is very important to her and she will likely have a strong food draw for the rest of her life. Her forever home should be aware of leaving any edibles within reach or smell. If you give her a treat, she will not hesitate for a second to take it! If you would like to meet this sweet girl, please contact [email protected]. **ADOPTION PENDING!! STAY TUNED!**
Soft kisses and love, plus a great walking/hiking/running partner describes what you can expect from Jack. Jack is thrilled to join his sidekick, Ace, as a FCHS foster dog just arrived from the Floyd Pound. Jack is a little taller and he doesn’t grumble as much as Ace, but he loves attention just as much. Jack is 3 years old, weighs 45 pounds and gets along with other dogs, cats, and kids. He is used to living in a home and knows his manners there. Please contact [email protected] to meet Jack! Happy Tails for a senior foster! November is adopt a senior pet month. Former foster dog 'Gus' and his new guardian, Carol Porter, were the perfect match. It just doesn't get sweeter than this! "I am so happy that I adopted Gus (previously known as Phineas). This is the first senior I’ve adopted but hey, I’m a senior too! He’s a lovebug!" This snugly and talkative gentleman was picked up as a stray and is now in the FCHS shelter. Stay tuned for info updates on Phin!
