UPDATE: Miss Rosie will be going to rescue on 12/21! We love her and wish her all the best!
Miss Rosie is gonna rivet you with her intelligence, curiosity, playfulness, affection, and beauty. She has a delightful way of furrowing her brow while determining your next move. FCHS foster dog Rosie gets along well with dogs (we’ve seen that) and with children (according to her previous owner), but she was owner-surrendered due to her prey drive with chickens, so we suggest that she not be placed with chickens. She has no known cat history. Rosie is in terrific health, and we’ve revised her age estimate, based on her teeth, to four or fewer years. This busy and lively lady is spayed and current on vaccinations. She is also house-trained. Rosie may tug a bit on a leash but, hey, there’s a whole lot of exploring to do out there! If you would like to explore with Rosie, please contact Carol at the Floyd County Humane Society: cymoates@gmail.com.

Courtesy Post: Please contact Denise ray68a@netscape. Bailee would be happy to meet you!
Bailee is sitting so nicely waiting for her forever to come. She just can't figure out why they haven't come to meet her yet. Bailee will chase a ball for you, be your riding companion in the car, and give you lots of lovins! She is 6 years old, 70 lbs, housebroken, crate trained, knows commands, UTD on shots, and heartworm negative. Bailee would do best as the only dog and with older children. Diva is adopted!! Courtesy Post: Please note that Diva is not an FCHS foster dog.
If you can provide a forever home for Diva, please contact Vanessa: v.conner.carter@gmail.com. From Diva's mom: "Diva is a very loving dog and enjoys cuddling on the couch. She knows how to sit and give you her paw. Diva sleeps in her crate at night with no problems. She is partially house trained. I feel the accidents in the house during the day are from separation anxiety but I'm not sure. She uses pee-pee pads during the day. Diva would benefit from being in a home without cats. She continues to chase my cats daily. Also, a fenced in backyard would be needed. Diva has a lot of pinned up energy and she loves to be outdoors. I have attempted dog training, however she was too anxious to finish the first class. The trainer suggested Diva would benefit from private lessons. Diva has attended doggy day care and did well with other dogs. She does well with kids. She is a Pit-Mix and is almost 2 years old. I adopted Diva from someone on Facebook in August of this year. Upon adopting Diva, the previous owner stated she tested positive for heart worms in April of this year. Diva has since been re-tested and has a very faint positive. She has one more dose of her medication left and has been on antibiotics for one month. She is up to date on all her shots. I can provide copies of all shots given. I, unfortunately, can not provide Diva with the proper care she needs." Tami, Timmy, and Tommy were found with their mother who was a stray. They will be ready for adoption shortly.

Simba is a very affectionate guy. 10 years old, neutered, vaccinated, tested negative for FELV/FIV. He has been an indoor/outdoor cat and is used to dogs and other cats. He’s a big cat and full of love!
If you would like to meet this sweet kitty, leave a message at 540-745-7207 or e-mail info@floydhumanesociety.org. Sophie is an adorable little kitten who was rescued from a dumpster site in Floyd County. She’s a little shy but adjusting to getting love and attention from humans. Hard to say how her coat will be when she’s full grown but she’s a bit fluffy so we are calling her a medium haired cat now.
Sophie has started her vaccines and deworming. If you would like to meet this sweet kitten, leave a message at 540-745-7207 or e-mail info@floydhumanesociety.org. ***UPDATE: ADOPTED!!***
TORI'S FOSTER HOME FELL IN LOVE WITH HER AND THEY ARE KEEPING HER! This cutie is looking forward to meeting everyone on Saturday, October 12th at the Cabin Fever Fall Fling! Tori is about 7 yrs old, 29 lbs, she needs to lose some weight. Last week she had surgery to repair a condition that was likely causing her much pain for some time. She is healing nicely and finally ready to come out and meet people. She would be best in a home without other animals, but is doing well at her foster home with large dogs.
UPDATE: Adoption Pending. Stay tuned!
Ziggy was taken to the Floyd Pound as a stray and is now an FCHS foster dog. Already handsome, he will be gorgeous after grooming! Ziggy is ready to give you some bear hugs by wrapping himself around you. He’s a Border Collie mix, about 3 years old, and shows his love by placing his front paws on your lap or by hugging you. Ziggy takes a happy interest in other dogs and pretty much ignores cats. Ziggy would love to run in wide open spaces! He would be best at a home where he can be an outside working dog, and run and burn off extra energy. Please contact Carol at the Floyd County Humane Society: cymoates@gmail.com if you would like to meet Ziggy! UPDATE: Adoption Pending. Stay tuned!
We try our best to keep puppies out of the kennels while awaiting adoption. Target really needs to get out of the kennel environment, and in a home where he can be socialized and learn good manners. FCHS pays ALL expenses including a crate, food, toys, vet bills while in foster care. If you would like to meet Target, please contact Carol at cymoates@gmail.com. Thank you! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Little fireball Target (as he is fondly referred to by an FCHS volunteer) is in need of your love and attention! Target is ready to play, walk, run, and be with you in any way you choose; just remember that he wants your attention! Seems comfortable around other dogs, unknown with cats. Target is doing well with house-training but he will need some instruction that human hands are attached to someone and not for the gnawin’. If you would like to meet this pup, please contact Carol at the Floyd County Humane Society: cymoates@gmail.com. |
