Ginger is ready to rewrite the story of her life. Will you help her write her Happily Ever After?
We don't want to dwell on her past, but we will just come out and say it...Ginger was found tied to a tree and starving to death. She resorted to eating pine needles and leaves to stay alive. BUT most importantly, she is safe now and receiving a ton of love and treats from our volunteers. Since she has been in our care (about 5 weeks now), she has gained about 10 pounds (still needs to gain more). She is so sweet, loving, and trusting. Even though she was mistreated by humans previously, she craves love, pets, affection, and company. We can't wait for her true personality to shine through 110%! We get glimpses of it every day. Ginger should be an only dog (no cats; unknown with children). She needs to know she is cared for and loved and in a home where she is not left alone 8+ hours a day. And because she was nearly starved to death, food is very important to her and she will likely have a strong food draw for the rest of her life. Her forever home should be aware of leaving any edibles within reach or smell. If you give her a treat, she will not hesitate for a second to take it! If you would like to meet this sweet girl, please contact cymoates@gmail.com.

**Courtesy Post** Please contact Amber at (276) 229-5240 if you would like to meet Symbol & Chief.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Symbol & Chief's owner has fallen ill and can no longer give them the care they need. Symbol is a boxer mix, about 7 yrs old, weighs 38 lbs, is spayed, vaccinated, on heartworm preventative, and has lived at this home for 3 years. She is very loving and likes other dogs as well as children. She doesn’t seem aggressive towards cats, but shouldn’t be left alone with them. She is crate trained and somewhat house trained. Unfortunately she’s a fence climber so she needs to be on a tether or leash outside. Chief (the black and white dog in the pictures ) is around 5-6 yrs old. Neutered. Good with dogs and kids. Loves to run around and play with his squeaky toy. He's on interceptor plus for heartworm prevention and just got a new Soresto collar this month. He does good inside now once he's adapted. And will not usually jump a fence From Symbol's owner, "She is an absolute sweetheart. Her buddy chief is too (black & white male) he's about 5 yrs old, neutered, on heartworm prevention and flea & tick treatment. Good with kids, other dogs and cats but shouldn't be left unsupervised with cats. If anyone wants to give them a forever home together I will do that because their bond is a strong one." *Lucy will go to rescue on 2/1/2020!**
Lovely Lucy is ready to light up your life with adoration! What does she expect in return? Nice strolls, a little adventure seeking, two square meals per day, a few treats, and all your love. And please don't forget the belly rubs! (She rolled over for a rub the moment this volunteer let her out of the kennel.) This charming girl gets along with other dogs and cats. Please email cymoates@gmail.com to meet Lucy. **ADOPTION PENDING!! STAY TUNED!**
Soft kisses and love, plus a great walking/hiking/running partner describes what you can expect from Jack. Jack is thrilled to join his sidekick, Ace, as a FCHS foster dog just arrived from the Floyd Pound. Jack is a little taller and he doesn’t grumble as much as Ace, but he loves attention just as much. Jack is 3 years old, weighs 45 pounds and gets along with other dogs, cats, and kids. He is used to living in a home and knows his manners there. Please contact cymoates@gmail.com to meet Jack! *Adoption Pending! Stay tuned!*
Your number one dog for the job, Ace, is now an FCHS foster dog! (Ace’s best bud Jack is on the way from the pound, too.) Everything you need in a compact package, that’s Ace. Gets along well with other dogs and lived successfully with children and cats. About 3 years old, housetrained, loves hugs and attention and walks well on a leash. Please contact cymoates@gmail.com to meet Ace! |
