Handsome Shiloh! Is adopted!

Happy Tails from former FCHS foster dog Shiloh (formerly Ernest) and his Willis/Indian Valley family, who are FCHS volunteers: "Shiloh is the most snuggly dog we've ever known! He has no idea how big he is, or he just doesn't care. He loves long walks in the mountains and he can't get enough fetch. He's been to the top of Buffalo Mountain and he's itching to get on the AT this spring!

Shiloh is such a special guy and we are lucky to have him in our lives. We initially intended to only foster him, but after a week we knew we couldn't say good-bye. Helping take care of the FCHS dogs is rewarding, but seeing Shiloh's true personality emerge when he's in a home environment is a wonderful thing to witness."

​This beautiful one-year-old hound mix is crate trained, house trained, has lovely house and yard manners, rides well in cars, bonds closely with his family and aims to please. Thanks to Diamonds In The Ruff Virginia, he knows basic commands including sit, down, wait, load, off, and more.  He lived with a foster family that includes two senior dogs and a cat. Shiloh has tons of character, enjoys learning, picks up on commands quickly, and will definitely bring laughter and joy to the right household.

He is the perfect balance of super sweet and cuddly lounge lizard and high energy dog that loves to run and play all rolled into one. He's at his best with about 45 minutes of vigorous daily exercise. A combination of running in a large fenced yard, jogging or taking long walks with his people, playing fetch and tug, or frolicking with a young dog that's about the same size and age are ideal energy outlets for this young and fit guy.  Whether on the run or chilling at home his favorite spot is by his person’s side.

Shiloh is very sweet but is sometimes wary of strangers and will do best in a household with adults or possibly older teens that can read his body language and give him time and space to get to know people when he needs it.
